The RoleAspen Technology is the world's leading supplier of Asset Optimization software solutions. Our software solutions help our customers to address the Dual Challenge of meeting the growing demand for resources and higher standards of living from a growing population while also addressing sustainability goals, reductions in emissions and reductions in plastic waste in the environment.

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Director of Software Architecture to drive software products and services architecture while leading high level design decisions, in order to support our most complex and hard software technology problems, focusing on High Performance Computing using leading-edge technology developments dealing with large-scale data processing and analysis, with data sizes ranging into the many terabytes. In this role, you will be utilizing the newest GPUs from leading vendors such as NVidia, AMD, etc. Your Impact
  • Responsibility for driving software architecture and design decisions for the SSE business unit.
  • Work collaboratively with senior level R&D leadership globally to utilize modern technologies to solve our most difficult problems.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in software applications running on cloud based HPC systems. Implement optimizations to maximize throughput, minimize latency, and enhance overall system performance.
  • Mentor and train other technical staff, especially around architecture, HPC topics, performance optimization, etc.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (e.g. Quality Engineering, Product Security, etc) to make sure these topics are compliant in your area.
  • Cloud Integration: Drive the integration of HPC solutions with cloud services and technologies, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Leverage cloud-native architectures and services to enable scalability, elasticity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in HPC, cloud computing, and big data technologies. Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
What You'll Need
  • M.Sc. in Computer Science
  • 15+ years' experience in software development
  • Experience working with multiple geographically dispersed locations and time zones.
  • Experience with different chip architecture optimization .
  • Experience developing in Windows (Visual Studio) and Linux environments.
  • Experience developing in C++, CUDA and web development (Java is a plus)
  • Experience with source control systems including Git and Perforce.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication., writing and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.
  • Work collaboratively in an entrepreneurial team environment.
  • English fluency (written and verbal) required.
