Job Summary
The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering's Alabama Transportation Assistance Program is seeking candidates for the position of Outreach Marketing Program Administrator . The individual in this position will plan, coordinate, deliver and manage outreach or extension educational services and programs to accomplish outreach goals and objectives including communication, education, research, community assistance and quality management. This position will create and deliver the marketing for educational programs that ATAP offers through website maintenance, social media platforms, and newsletters.

Formal AU Title: Admstr, Outreach Programs
Essential Functions

  • Leads ATAP publicity, marketing and communication activities including the ATAP newsletter and maintaining ATAP websites and social media sites. Assists in the development of or develops marketing plans and publicity materials for distribution to target audience.


  • Develops and coordinates outreach programs for targeted groups; assesses program needs, organizes program material; evaluates program success.
  • Meets with clientele to dene needs or problem areas.
  • Manages and assists in the development of budgets and maintains nancial records related to a specic activity, project or service.
  • Acts as project manager in planning and coordinating activities to support specic programs.
  • May research, prepare, and/or write grants, applications and fundraising proposals to sources at local, state and national levels. Manage/coordinate training sessions, workshops and conferences which will require overnight travel.
  • Organizes webinars, workshops, and conferences in Mobile, Montgomery, Huntsville, and Birmingham.
  • Overnight travel is required.
Minimum Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications
Level I: Bachelor's degree in discipline appropriate to position with no experience.

Level II: Bachelor's degree in discipline appropriate to position plus 2 years experience in the design, implementation, delivery and management of educational programs/services. Experience must include at least 2 years at the preceding level or equivalent.

Level III: Bachelor's degree in discipline appropriate to position plus 4 years experience in the design, implementation, delivery and management of educational programs/services. Experience must include at least 2 years at the preceding level or equivalent.

Substitutions allowed for Experience:
When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications


Minimum Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication and writing skills, collaborative, and interpersonal skills are essential. Experience in Excel, Access, and Microsoft Oce.
Must have time management skills; ability to multitask, the ability to organize, and prioritize daily workload.
Must be willing and able to travel an estimated 36 nights/54 days a year for workshops and conferences.

Experience in Higher Education. Marketing and Communication experience preferred. Experience in the design, implementation, delivery and management of educational programs/services.
