Utilize data analysis skills while partnering with investment teams. This position will be will directly responsible for the design, maintenance, and support of various data management activities (ETL, Master Data Management, etc.) in the Ameritas Investment Partners (AIP) production environment.

This position is a hybrid role working partially in-office (in either Lincoln, NE or Cincinnati, OH) and partially from home. As compared with other data engineer roles, this position will be very communication heavy. This is not a coding role with minimal people interaction. This is a role with heavy stakeholder interaction, where strong and clear communication skills will be critically important.

What you do



  • Partner with leaders and portfolio managers from within A.I.P. division to conduct elicitation activities to obtain information from stakeholders to formulate requirements.
  • Perform ETL system analysis, design, development, integration, maintenance, and support using SQL, Python, Azure Cloud and other tools.
  • Support multiple small to large complexity projects that require technical skills in multiple environments. Act as a project team member or occasional project lead as required.
  • Contribute to ETL solutioning efforts within the A.I.P. team, and partnering with application owners, architects, business analysts, and representatives of the Data Engineering team within I.T.
  • Perform server and infrastructure management running schedules and scripts.
  • Build, manipulate, and adjust complex computational algorithms using Python.



What you bring



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience required. Relevant experiences should include technical experience (see list below) or investment product experiences, or some combination of the two.
  • SQL experience required.
  • Python experience is desired.
  • Azure cloud experience desired.
  • Investment product knowledge or experience desired.
