Job Description Summary:UCAR is excited to announce the job opening for the COMET/CPC Associate Scientist III role. This position will serve COMET and NOAA's Climate Prediction Center (CPC) in support of the President Emergency Plan for Adaptation and Resilience (PREPARE) Early Warning Systems (EWS) for Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific Islands. Additionally, this position will provide scientific program support for the implementation of EWSs in Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific Islands, including providing support for stakeholders' workshops and training, with a focus on integrating social data with predictions and building user geoportal interface platforms to develop and improve EWSs. Lastly, the COMET/CPC Associate Scientist III position will lead the development of the geoportal platforms to provide access to socio-economic information that has been tailored to the needs of regional partners.
