Are you looking for a rewarding career that touches lives every day? If so, consider a position as a Justice Victim Advocate in the Equity and Engagement Department at the City of Champaign. Responsibilities of Position Justice Victim Advocates are civilians who coordinate services on behalf of victims of violent crimes. They provide services through a process designed to ensure justice, coping and healing for victims and their families. They successfully help navigate individuals and families through the criminal justice system beginning with initial law enforcement contact. JVA’s use empathy, crisis intervention, trauma informed care and culturally responsive techniques to deliver quality and intensive supportive services. They coordinate with social service providers and serve as a liaison between agencies, law enforcement and other providers. The JVA’s require the ability to be flexible as a regular schedule consists of emergency call outs at all hours. The annual starting salary range is $70,705 - $80,491, DOQ, plus an excellent fringe benefits package. Applications must be submitted online no later than Sunday, April 28, 2024.
