Key Responsibilities: Network Infrastructure Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and Palo Alto firewalls, along with HP/Aruba switches, Wi-Fi access points, and SilverPeak SD-WAN infrastructure, ensuring seamless network operations.
- Coordinate and support all data and telecommunications circuits to guarantee optimal performance and reliability.
- Evaluate and recommend adopting new network products and technologies, such as SilverPeak SD-WAN, to enhance network efficiency and security.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors for daily operations and network-related projects, ensuring smooth implementation and issue resolution.
- Design and update comprehensive network diagrams to reflect evolving network architecture across all company locations.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain robust security measures based on zero-trust frameworks, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of network data.
- Administer system security at file, user, group, and server levels, adhering to industry best practices and compliance standards.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, support, and contractual requirements for all network-related hardware, software, and data circuits.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
- Monitor network performance closely, proactively responding to issues to maximize reliability, resilience, and security.
- Utilize Orion network monitoring and SolarWinds toolsets to promptly identify and address network anomalies.
User Support and Collaboration:
- Provide responsive help desk support to all employees, efficiently troubleshooting and resolving network-related problems.
- Collaborate with other departments and vendors to facilitate timely resolution of network issues, minimizing disruption to business operations.
- Foster a culture of effective communication and collaboration, promoting courteous and user-centric support services.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in after-hours on-call rotation to promptly address network emergencies.
- Ensure license compliance for all company network-related hardware and software.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by IT management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with technologies such as Microsoft Entra, Intune, Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, Citrix, VMWare, Avaya IP Office, Rapid 7, and DUO is a plus. Highly skilled in diagnosing and troubleshooting problems to identify solutions in a timely manner. In the capacity of Network Administrator, the incumbent must apply proven and specialized experience with:
- Cisco IOS (routers and switches).
- HP/Aruba switches and Wi-Fi access points.
- SilverPeak SD-WAN.
- Palo Alto firewalls.
- Aruba ClearPass.
- TCP/IP, IP Routing principles, and practices.
- Network security concepts, including knowledge of NIST and zero-trust security frameworks.
- Orion network monitoring and SolarWinds toolsets.
- Certificate administration.
- Ethernet cabling.
- DNS, DHCP, and/or WINS.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS While not required, the following certifications are encouraged and advantageous:
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate).
- HP/Aruba ACX, ACA, ACEP.
- Palo Alto PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer).
