Salary and Benefits
This position is in a Salary Grade PM6, with a minimum salary of $70,916 per annum. The successful candidate's salary will be calculated based on education and experience within the grade range. This position is eligible for Northeast Community College's excellent full-time fringe benefits package.

General Description
The purpose of this position is to develop, implement and oversee a comprehensive program of disability support services to meet the needs of all students with disabilities ( SWD) on campus who self-identify within the framework of federal regulations. This is accomplished by developing and implementing policies and procedures, conducting disability assessments of students, determining and overseeing the determination and coordination of appropriate accommodations for students, locating assistive technology solutions, auxiliary aids, and services, and possessing expertise and understanding of ADA and Section 504 campus compliance with emphasis on SWD in higher education, including, but not limited to: intake process, educational assistive technology, study abroad offerings, student housing, and effective communication with SWD, faculty, and staff. This position requires a physical presence on the Norfolk campus.
Qualifications: Education
Bachelor's degree in special education, social/behaviors science, human services, education, social work, or related field required. Masters degree preferred.
Qualification:Experience
Over three years up to and including five years experience with working knowledge and understanding of various disabilities and disability laws (Americans with Disabilities Act ( ADA), Section 504, Fair Housing Act, etc) as they pertain to education and students with disabilities.
Qualification:Skills
Skillset and relative expertise in interpreting disability-related documentation to verify disability and identify appropriate accommodation plans.
