Inside Sales & Sales Support Representative

Location: Onsite with Limited remote based on management discretion

Purpose

The Inside Sales & Sales Support Representative is responsible for managing incoming leads, identify and writing new business, and building relationships with customers. This role is responsible for coordinating sales activities including providing support to the National Sales Manager and sales team. The Inside Sales & Sales Support Representative responsibilities include tracking sales leads, coordinating quotes with sales packs, providing customer service, and managing customer accounts. This role will support members of the Sales & Sales Support teams who are out on leave.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Initiates sales process on new leads and seeks new business with existing accounts.
  • Follows up with sales leads and referrals.
  • Works with customer service, account managers, and management to identify and close opportunities.
  • Closes sales by building rapport with potential account; explaining product and service capabilities; overcoming objections; preparing sales agreements.
  • Identifies market potential by qualifying accounts.
  • Provides pricing and quotations for potential accounts.
  • Opens new accounts by answering inquiries, verifying, and entering information.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Provides support to the sales team. Including support with price quotations, information input and management, product training or other related tasks.
  • Assists National Sales Manager with administrative tasks and managerial support, and special projects as assigned by National Sales Manager.
  • Forwards sales opportunities to management and sales department by collecting customer information and analyzing customer needs.
  • Acts as liaison for the sales team with operations staff, suppliers, and other third parties.
  • Creating and processing orders in a timely manner, processing requests for rush orders, and reviewing pending orders and customer requests to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Managing customer accounts, following up with customers for administrative purposes, and providing troubleshooting assistance for orders, account statuses, and other problems.
  • Performing data entry tasks for sales figures, metrics, and other relevant information and maintaining an organized and accessible filing system.
  • Manage accounts and responsibilities for members of Sales and Sales Support Team while out on leave
  • Other duties as maybe assigned by management from time to time.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred. In addition, at least one (2-4) year of job-related experience is normally required to perform this job.

Computer Skills

  • Strong knowledge of PC based computers and server-based networks.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
