About This Role:



Direct and plan operations of the Division of Financial Services Cashiers and Student Accounts unit. Design procedures that provide for efficient operations and give the most effective customer service. Plan and coordinate future system enhancements to improve service and operational efficiencies. Major functions performed under the direction of this position include central cashiering for multiple banks, billing, and collection of student tuition and fees, IRS tuition tax credit reporting, and the administration of all central student loan programs.



  • Manage staff responsible for accounting and activities associated with daily campus depository activity, student billing, student loan services, and third-party student sponsor billing. Ensure quality and consistent customer service is provided utilizing tools available to ensure campus administrators, students and staff have the information needed for decision making. Identify and coordinate process and improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain policies and procedures related to campus depository, student and third-party sponsor billing, and student loan services. Manage internal controls and internal security procedures related to cash handling and eCommerce activities.
  • Manage university banking relationships. Ensure banking services meet university expectations and manage university staff access to bank accounts. Oversee daily depository remittances and the reconciliation activity associated with daily deposits and transfers to the State of Kansas.
  • Responsible for policies and procedures and management of student debt and university customer debt. Ensure student hold policies and collection practices are followed. Work with leaders in various university units to determine appropriate debt management steps concerning unique facts and circumstances that may be present (enrollment services, colleges, auxiliary operations).

What You'll Need to Succeed:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Requires a bachelor's degree and three to five years of relevant experience


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting, finance, or business administration
  • At least 3 years in accounting, cashiering, or accounts receivable with progressively supervisory role
  • Computer skills with Microsoft products
  • Knowledge of CashNet and Oracle products
