Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with the RN and LPN to support the delivery of care in a safe patient environment that promotes caring and healing.
  • Contributes to the assessment of patient's health status by collecting, recording, and reporting objective and subjective data. Timely, consistently, and accurately documents all patient interactions.
  • Obtain and record patients' vital signs.
  • Monitor patients and report patients' condition and promptly report any signs or symptoms of concern to appropriate party.
  • Works effectively with providers and patients to schedule surgeries, imaging, lab, etc. Completes pre-authorization for all procedures or testing to ensure effective reimbursement.
  • Answers phones and responds to messages in a timely manner. Communicates and interacts with all customers, (patients, visitors, co-workers, administrative staff, and physicians), in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Demonstrates efficiency and dependability with assigned job responsibilities and cross-trains, as appropriate, to assist other staff members in their job duties.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of observations and interventions in the medical record.
  • Assist in preparing and stripping rooms as needed.
  • Perform direct and indirect patient care duties as assigned and may provide clerical support to assigned department.
  • Maintain department records and orders/stocks routine supplies for the department.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Idaho Certified Nursing Assistant certification or National or Idaho EMT licensure.
  • Current BLS certification.

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of medical terminology
  • One year of experience in acute or long-term care preferred
