What You'll Do

Support REMPREX initiatives and goals through the completion of required client intermodal activities in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Responsibilities



  • Complete manual gate workload in compliance with Service Level Requirements (SLR)
  • Proper placement and removal of holds in the client system
  • Placing appropriate tags on equipment entering the facility
  • Completion of yard check, as required
  • Must understand and be in compliance with REMPREX and client rules, regulations, and safety guidelines at all times, including e-RAILSAFE badges and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Basic knowledge of hand-held scanners/computers
  • Understand the checkpoint In-Gate and Out-Gate process & be able to troubleshoot Gate processing issues using client-specific software
  • Understand and operate checkpoint support systems
  • Conduct visual inspection of equipment condition and note damages for both container and chassis
  • Enforce compliance with American Association of Railroads (AAR) regulations
  • Assisting drivers in locating containers within the facility and resolving any issues they may have


Required

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent intermodal industry experience
  • Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Comfortable lifting 50Ibs as required

  • This role is based out of Chicago, IL 60617
  • This role requires employees to be on-site, as required.


Work Environment

  • This role takes place in an office environment as well as intermodal railyards. As a result, REMPREX requires manual gate operators to wear appropriate attire for an office environment as well as safety attire when at a rail yard, including steel-toed boots, vests, a hardhat, and safety goggles.
