Lead Responsibilities

  1. Must be able to help hold EVERYONE (not limited to within dept. 701) on days and swing shift accountable to following all safety (including PPE), and quality policies.
  2. Coach and mentor new hires to meet certification and quality requirements. This includes providing direct feedback and tracking training status.
  3. Must be able to establish and track rework plans, including post HT fallout.
  4. Must be in tune with production plans enough to be able to immediately escalate to shift supervisor or appropriate leader when a roadblock to the agreed upon target presents itself.
  5. Working lead - must be able to understand when to personally flex back into - expectation is to be in IDL no more than 50% of a shift.
  6. Excellent communication skills
  7. Good attendance record and performance history
  8. Ability to meet expectations of Lead Position as identified on attached summary.

Each candidate's qualifications will be assessed to determine who is most qualified for the position. The final selection process will include interviews with the Department Supervisor(s) and Human Resources. This is an appointed position and title can be removed at any time for any reason.

Leads are intended to be "working leads" in that they are expected to carry out their normal job title functions with some modifications by their supervisor. The additional responsibilities of the lead are generally defined by the supervisor and typically include the following:

  • Champion Safety and 6S Initiatives
  • Hold team accountable for following all policies and procedures, including safety and quality
  • Prioritize workflow and keep key parts moving for TP plan or LTPO recovery
  • Demonstration of excellent communication skills
  • Answer questions regarding the processing of parts
  • Verify daily staffing and report any staffing issues/needs to Supervisor
  • Assign work to operators
  • Assess training needs and coordinate training as needed
  • Move operators to different job assignments that they are qualified to perform
  • Stop the work of operators, if appropriate (in the absence of a supervisor)
  • Audit the quality and quantity of work performed by operators
  • Provide input to Supervisors regarding operator punctuality, tardiness, and other aspects of overall performance
  • Assume responsibility of routine operations in a Supervisor's absence
  • May be required to handle or manage hazardous waste
  • May be required to complete hazardous waste management training
  • Must be able to handle all processes within the department

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

GENERAL SUMMARY OF WAX MOLDER POSITION

The Wax Molder produces wax patterns, chills, gates, and solubles in accordance with acceptable productivity and quality levels. The Wax Molder also processes and moves raw materials, new and reworked tools and produces molding work instructions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Operate in a safe and efficient manner all wax press machinery, equipment and related tooling.
  2. Perform proper cleaning, handling and storage of wax molding tooling.
  3. Read and follow wax molding set up techniques and instructions associated with each tool.
  4. Perform general cleaning of the molding area and equipment.
  5. Inspect wax patterns for acceptable quality criteria.
  6. Appropriately document all daily paperwork and forms associated with the molding operation.
  7. Identify and document tooling damage and operational issues.
  8. Process paperwork and physically move tools in and out of the department as required.
  9. Set up and inspect new and reworked tooling.
  10. Receive and inspect raw materials.
  11. Perform leach tank operations as needed in a safe and efficient manner.
  12. Perform monthly maintenance duties.
  13. Write work instructions for the molding operation.
  14. Adhere to plant and department safety rules and regulations.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  1. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  2. Ability to learn and follow safety policies and procedures.
  3. Must possess strong mechanical aptitude, with ability to work with hands and possess good hand-eye coordination.
  4. Ability to operate a forklift in a safe and proper manner.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to read reports and use computer. Hear well enough to communicate with co-workers. Stand for long periods of time to operate equipment, mobility between departments and to attend meetings of employees and managers. Climb and reach to perform multiple tasks. Lift up to 35 pounds to move objects. Push/pull up to 35 pounds to move objects. Must be able to use hands to feel product and grasp tools. Must be able to see to complete visual inspections and use measurement tools. Write, type, and use phone system. Work in conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
