The Opportunity:

Join our dynamic team to provide essential customer service support as part of the 24/7 Facilities Operations Work Control Center. The Work Control Dispatcher II is responsible for providing prompt service and responding to requests from customers and staff, including emergencies and unforeseen situations. This role involves ensuring superior customer service while representing the University, specifically Facilities & Business Operations.

Responsibilities:


  • Process, prioritize, validate, and distribute all incoming work requests for main and branch campus buildings, including residence halls and apartments.

  • Dispatch work to various zones, teams, or groups within the Facilities & Business Operations Department, balancing urgency with routine demands.

  • Coach, train, and mentor Work Control Dispatcher I's on job assignments, standards, and customer service.

  • Ensure accurate data entry of work orders into the Integrated Work Management System (IWMS) and review work orders for completeness and accuracy.

  • Audit incoming and outgoing phone calls to ensure SOP compliance and superior customer service.

  • Monitor parameters of critical facilities and respond to out-of-limit alarms, notifying appropriate personnel as necessary.

  • Take charge of WCC communications during after-hour emergencies, coordinating the response until the arrival of the Unit Leader or designee.


Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Ability to communicate in conversational English in order to work effectively with customers and team members, operate electronic equipment (iPod Touch for AiM PM checkpoints), comprehend standard safety procedures, and utilize telecommunication devices.

  • Ability to accurately interpret and use facility contracts relevant to tasks.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in a diverse work environment, including coaching, leading, and motivating teams.

  • Proficiency in preparing reports, inspections, and documentation.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and address sensitive matters appropriately.

  • Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and trades classifications.

  • Proficiency in communication and use of electronic equipment.

  • Experience in facilities management within large complex organizations.

  • Understanding and application of guidelines, regulations, and policies.

  • Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and IWMS.

  • The ability to update IWMS work orders accurately and effectively to maintain a comprehensive history of work completed.


Health Assessment Required:

UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.
