What You'll Do in This Position

Provide advanced expertise and support to site operations to resolve very broad to abstract technical issues having division
and/or site wide implications. Specific support provided will differ according to assignment, but will generally include
directing, planning, developing, implementing, and administering technical engineering and operations related programs.
Ensure technical aspects of engineering, operations, or maintenance programs are in compliance with governing directives.
Responsible for directing, planning, developing, implementing, and budgeting for various technical functions in support of the
pre-conceptual design, construction, and start-up of process and testing facilities.
Interface and negotiate with vendors to resolve equipment, services, staffing, and technical related issues.
Evaluate and analyze equipment, instruments, and procedures needed to upgrade operations programs.
Evaluate, test, and procure new equipment and instruments in support of assigned operations programs.
Ensure technical aspects of engineering and operations programs are in compliance with applicable laws, standards, and DOE Orders.
Serve on various committees regarding standardization of equipment, instrumentation, processes, and training in support of
the company and DOE operations programs.
Direct daily activity of other engineering and technical support specialists and serve as an area point of contact or subject
matter expert for the most complex technical issues.
Assist less experienced personnel with more difficult aspects of work and provide guidance to less senior employees to
achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies.
Demonstrate cost and schedule awareness through timely completion of assigned tasks and projects.
Other knowledge Skills:
Developed installation/modification work instructions and work plans
Performed job hazard analysis for construction activities
Experience as a Field Engineer

Meet one of the following discipline qualifications:

Electrical-
Experience with electrical system installation/modification designed and constructed in accordance with national electrical codes and standards including NFPA and NEC

Mechanical -
Experience with mechanical system installation/modification designed and constructed in accordance with national piping codes and standards including Working knowledge of ASME piping codes

Civil -
Experience with civil and architectural installation/modification designed and constructed in accordance with national codes and standards including IBC, ACI, AISC, OSHA

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Able to obtain and maintain a Q Security Clearance

Qualifications We Desire

College degree in engineering, technical or mechanical area is preferred.

Previous SRS Experience, specific NCP experience is a plus.

Previous experience related to construction engineering, work planning, job hazards analysis, and material procurement utilizing SRS specific processes, programs, procedures and systems

Previous experience with forecasting staffing needs to meet organizational commitments

Previous experience interfacing with internal and external customers (i.e. DOE, NNSA, DNFSB, IEB, QA, etc.)
