The Opportunity

Howard Hughes Holdings owns, manages, and develops award-winning master planned communities, as well as operating properties and development opportunities including: The Seaport in New York; Downtown Columbia, Maryland; The Woodlands, The Woodlands Hills, and Bridgelandin the Greater Houston, Texas area; Summerlin, Las Vegas; Douglas Ranch, Phoenix and Ward Villagein Honolulu, Hawaii.

As we continue our commitment in creating innovative placemaking we have formed Seaport Entertainment. Seaport Entertainment, a newly formed division comprising the company's entertainment-related assets in New York and Las Vegas-including the Seaport in Lower Manhattan and the Las Vegas Aviators Triple-A Minor League Baseball team, as well as the company's ownership stake in Jean-Georges Restaurants and its 80% interest in the air rights above the Fashion Show Mall, which are intended to be used to create a new casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. is establishing Seaport Entertainment with the intention of completing its spinoff as a publicly traded company by year-end 2024. The planned separation of Seaport Entertainment from Howard Hughes would allow the new company to operate independently as a pure-play entertainment enterprise, equipped with a robust team of industry leaders to ensure its long-term success.

The Role

As the Director of Technology Services, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing all aspects of our Seaport Entertainment Group's technology operations. You will lead a small team of technology professionals, contractors, and vendors, ensuring the successful implementation and support of all Seaport's systems, applications, procedures, policies, and technology strategies. Your expertise will drive efficiency, innovation, and alignment with the overall business goals that are unique to the hospitality and entertainment industries.

What You Will Do

Strategic Leadership:

  • Oversee and participate in all technology operations, including network services and security; information security; infrastructure services; cloud management; application services and support; and technology services management.

  • Evaluate technology initiatives against established goals.

  • Devise, document, and establish technology policies, procedures, and systems to support the organizational strategies.

Business Requirements Analysis:

  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their technology needs.

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technology solutions. Document and analyze all business application requirements.

Technology Budget Management:

  • Participate in the management of IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

  • Prepare and present budgets, driving top-line revenue through managing expenses, forecasting, and analyzing financial statements.

  • Utilize a total cost of ownership (TCO) approach when requesting funds for new systems. TCO includes software, hardware, infrastructure, consultant time, IT time, business user time and the same costs associated with system maintenance.

Technology Procurement and Implementation:

  • Recommend efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and applications.

  • Ensure new or upgraded solutions/applications/systems meet intended functionality and efficiency.

  • Identify the need for revisions, upgrades or new solutions on existing infrastructure.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with senior leadership, contractors, technicians, vendors, and other professionals. Foster a collaborative environment and provide guidance to the team.

Vendor Relationships:

  • Build and maintain relationships with technology vendors. Propose and negotiate cost-efficient contracts.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Hospitality or related field from a four-year accredited college or university required.

  • An equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant, and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above.

  • Seven (7) years progressive hospitality technology management experience and three (3) years' senior level experience leading IT operations within the hospitality or entertainment industry required.

  • Management experience and strong understanding with server technologies and implementations, cloud management, networking, low voltage, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IP phone systems, point of sale, ticketing technology, food and beverage solutions; along with the integrations across these systems is required.

  • Further management experience with business intelligence, customer relationship management, sales and catering or events is a plus.

  • Pre-Opening and implementation experience highly preferred.

  • Track record implementing digital solutions to improve business processes and relationships between customers and employees is ideal.

  • Multi-property and/or regional management experience required.

  • Demonstrate management knowledge of system, application, and network maintenance.

  • Proven strong leadership and people management skills required with positive motivational and collaboration emphasis; communicates effectively, overcomes resistance, and builds commitment.

  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating and implementing technology solutions or systems.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of hospitality technology operations compliance, regulations, best practices, procedures, and structures.

  • Demonstrate advanced skill in creating and maintaining performance metrics for measuring IT program effectiveness. (e.g., service desk metrics)

  • Exhibit excellent project management skills and proficiency in project management tools. Proficient in Teams, SharePoint, Power BI & all Microsoft Office Suite applications.

  • Demonstrate stability-the tendency to handle stress, maintain an even temperament and demonstrate confidence across most situations, while ensuring transparency within the company, in a fast-paced, multi-task, and high-pressure environment.
