Postgres DBA

Location: Atlanta, Georgia (Remote to Start)

Qualification:



  • Bachelor's in Science/ Commerce/Engineering or equivalent
  • 8 to 12 years of hands-on experience managing, building, and administering databases (Postgres, SQL, MySQL, Oracle, etc)
  • Must have a strong foundation in PostgreSQL DB Administration with proven experience.
  • Experience in Admin Services & Prod related domains is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development is expected.


Responsibility:



  • Oversee the administration and maintenance of PostgreSQL databases to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Implement and manage database backup recovery and disaster recovery processes.
  • Monitor database systems to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database structures queries and indexes.
  • Ensure compliance with database best practices and policies.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in database administration.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of database migration and upgrade projects.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation for database procedures and policies.
  • Work closely with the IT security team to implement and maintain database security measures.

  • PostgreSQL DB Administration


  • IBM DB2 LUW DB Admin


  • Admin Services & Prod related.


Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $[44,000.00 - 115,000.00] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
