Zoetis Reference Laboratory is seeking a motivated individual looking to continue their career in a laboratory setting. The ideal candidate would have a laboratory background and a general understanding of veterinary diagnostics. This position is for individuals looking to grow their careers.

Job Summary

The Laboratory Assistant 2 is an elevated data entry position. Their duties include entering patient information into a Laboratory Information System, LIS, logging received samples, recording accurate information, problem-solving, and assisting laboratory assistant 1s.

Laboratory Assistant 2 Job Responsibilities

The laboratory assistant 2 is responsible for accessioning samples into the LIS, and specimen management. They will help laboratory assistant 1s as needed during their day-to-day tasks. Analyzing data and attention to detail are essential for this position. Some Laboratory Assistant 2 responsibilities are as follows:

  • Receive packages from the shipping company and document the packages into a designated log.
  • Enter data into LIS.
  • Verify the data and check accuracy before entering data into LIS.
  • Compare data in the LIS with the provided documents, or re-enter data in the LIS if there are errors.
  • Check and scan finished documents into LIS.
  • Check documents to correct data entry errors, and report them to a supervisor or lead.
  • Maintain quality logs and activity logs.
  • Check problem samples and make corrections.
  • Work with other departments to solve problems.
  • Onboard and train new colleagues

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working with Computers-Knowledge of computers and computer systems
  • Processing Information-Verify and enter information into LIS.
  • Documenting/Recording Information-Enter and transcribe information into LIS.
  • Making Decisions and Solving Problems- Apply critical thinking and solve problems.
  • Analyzing Data or Information-Identify errors and attention to detail.
  • Biology/Veterinary- Knowledge of biology and veterinary medicine preferred but not required.
  • Laboratory experience- Minimum of 6 months in a laboratory setting required.

Education:

  • High school diploma
  • Associates or bachelor's preferred but not required.

Salary and Benefits:

Schedule: Mon-Fri 3:00 pm-11:30 pm

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in (Colorado). Base pay may vary based on location and other factors.

Base Pay Range: $17.60 - $23.50 hourly
