Senior HR Business Partner - Petcare and Portfolio Brand

Role Description:

The Senior HR Business Partner for the Petcare business is responsible for partnering with Senior leaders to ensure HR strategies support business needs and objectives. They direct the implementation and prioritization of talent strategies for their assigned business stakeholders and are responsible for delivering organizational change that supports the business' objectives. Additionally, they ensure the HR Business Partners reporting to them develop and execute the HR programs as necessary to meet business needs and with global consistency, where applicable. They partner with the business and HR leaders to establish the talent pipeline for critical positions and enable in-market HR Business Partners in the development of US talent pipelines. The Senior HR Business Partner for Petcare and Portfolio Brand is a member of the Petcare Leadership team and contribute to the forging of the overall business and people strategy. They drive the achievement of the team's strategic goals and the business financial objectives. They are a leader and a role model of outstanding leadership behaviors and the Zoetis core beliefs.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the business strategy and drive key human capital strategies that further the business objectives
  • Partner with Petcare executive team (and their leadership teams as may be necessary) to provide a point of view focusing on the global people strategy and talent management
  • Drive HR program and service delivery effectiveness and collaborate with the HR Centers of Excellence (e.g., Total Rewards and Talent) and HR Leadership to deliver effective HR solutions aligned to business strategies
  • Lead talent attraction and acquisition plans for the Petcare business, partnering with internal talent Centers of Excellence (COEs), RPO to deliver talent into roles.
  • Drive the development of colleagues through performance management, learning & development, coaching and talent pipelining.
  • Embrace and maximize the HR Service Delivery model (e.g., HR shared services (Zoetis Colleague Services) and drive this mindset throughout the HR associates
  • Collaborate and proactively manage relationships with business executives, HR Leadership, and HR Business Partners to ensure programs and strategy are aligned with the appropriate operating level strategy as well as the overall HR strategy
  • Partner with corporate Total Rewards and HR Operations teams to administer annual compensation and rewards program, including calibration process and all year-end compensation activities
  • Partner with leaders to develop and implement people engagement strategies and support the delivery of ongoing programs and projects in particular DEI and career development & engagement
  • Implement talent management programs for assigned business groups utilizing corporate talent tools and resources to ensure appropriate talent pipeline is in place
  • Collect, analyze, and articulate business requirements and challenges, and translate them into executable HR initiatives
  • Partner with and coach business leaders and their leadership teams to implement optimal organization structures at all levels of the business
  • Act as a change champion by developing and implementing a structured approach to change initiatives that will enable organizational transitions
  • Enable managers to develop colleagues in alignment with business strategies by suggesting a variety of development activities (i.e., rotations, projects, etc.)
  • Lead strategic initiatives associated with mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with corporate HR policies and national legislation and regulations
  • Manage employee relations as required; conduct & capability related issues, grievances, attendance and tribunal cases.

  • Able to appropriately push back and challenge the status quo
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact with senior level managers and executives

Qualifications & Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience preferred
  • 12+ years of related HR experience
  • Demonstrated success working in a global, complex organization across functions, regions, cultures, and levels
  • Current knowledge of US employment law & regulations
  • Knowledge and experience of pharmaceutical or animal health industry preferred
  • Able and willing to regularly travel
  • HR Information Systems experience preferred, Workday a plus
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office software
