Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc (CEC) has an immediate opening for a Transportation Lead to drive the firm's growth and development in the transportation market. This position represents a tremendous opportunity for an individual with the drive and expertise needed to lead the growth of the firm's transportation business, which currently includes: transportation planning, traffic analysis, feasibility studies, NEPA services, permitting, right-of-way plan preparation, highway design, roadway design, design of pedestrian and bicycle facilities, bridge design, bridge rehabilitation, bridge inspection, highway structure design, program management, design/build, construction management, construction engineering, and special inspection/construction testing in support of our transportation clients across the organization.



Qualifications

Responsibilities include:

    Prepare and execute a strategic growth and development plan for expansion of transportation market opportunities and services at CEC.
  • Coordinate the business and client development efforts of transportation market practitioners across multiple practices and office locations.
  • Leverage both existing and prospective relationships with state and local entities along with personal and organizational expertise to secure new transportation projects for CEC.
  • Work with Project Managers and Operations leadership to assist with resource allocation, load levelling, and team formation for transportation projects across the organization.
  • Educate CEC employees on relevant aspects of the transportation market to facilitate internal knowledge transfer and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Oversee management of CEC's DOT prequalification process for various states.
  • Work with CEC's marketing team to develop and update marketing collateral for transportation services.
  • Manage and execute project work for key clients in areas commensurate with the candidate's expertise.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering; a Master's degree a plus.
  • Professional Engineering registration or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in providing transportation services in key markets.
  • Familiarity with design software.
  • Experience in multiple facets of transportation planning and engineering, and a thorough understanding of the project development process.
  • Experience with DOT contracting and project execution.
  • Strong business development, business practice, project management, staff development and project execution skills.
  • Strong relationships with public sector transportation clients.
