About This Role:



Kansas State University and the College of Architecture, Planning & Design/Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional & Community Planning wishes to hire and build a pool of temporary instructors/professors of practice for open and future part-time teaching in our on-campus regional & community planning and online community development programs. We welcome applications from practicing professionals who are interested in teaching part-time. We are looking for candidates who will be able to teach courses related to one or more of the following areas: urban planning foundations; planning professional practice; land development; and, electives with content specific to their expertise in planning and/or community development. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience.

Temporary instructor responsibilities include delivery of course content, scheduling office hours and being accessible to students as appropriate, and grading. Each instructor is expected to provide students with a syllabus outlining the course goals, schedule, and all requirements for the course under the direction of the Department Head.



What You'll Need to Succeed:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Master's degree or doctorate in Urban Planning, Community Development, or a closely allied field


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Previous teaching experience


Other Requirements:



  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment
