Overview

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Application Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing support to the Engineering team, managing project tasks, and contributing to the overall success of our projects. The Application Support Engineer will leverage their expertise in project management, system upgrades, infrastructure coordination, and team collaboration to drive the successful completion of various initiatives. Preferred work location is in our Jacksonville, FL or Atlanta, GA office.

The Application Support Engineer will be a key member of the Engineering team, tasked with procuring and implementing tools and infrastructure for testing applications and APIs. They will also work closely with other product teams to develop and enhance policies, best practices, and testing frameworks for distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong support to the Engineering team, ensuring seamless execution of daily tasks and operations.
  • Oversee and manage various project tasks, ensuring timely and successful completion. Coordinate deployment of servers, and system upgrades. Collaborate across different groups, including Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, and development teams, to ensure successful completion of projects. Coordinate and track development initiatives and upgrades across infrastructure and development teams.
  • Keep track of development teams' progress against information security tasks, ensuring adherence to company's application development and information security standards.
  • Support development and QA teams in determining root cause of client reported issues.
  • Performing of sand-box installations and configurations to carry out testing.
  • Project management - May track or direct the work of others, changing priorities as needed.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 1-3 years of scripting language experience, such as Powershell, Perl, Python.
  • Basic TCP/IP knowledge, Linux/Windows system level experience.
  • Problem solving, strong analysis and communication skills needed.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality with a passion for stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Candidate must be capable of self-direction.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Computer Science, or related).
  • Proven experience in project management, system upgrades, and infrastructure coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, development processes, and project workflows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across diverse teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably with a focus on financial systems and data processing.
