Are you a current student in Advertising or Marketing looking for hands-on experience? If so, our Lamar Corporate office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is now hiring a new Marketing Services and Communications Intern to assist with Lamar's social media account management, content strategy, website content, email marketing, and reporting.

What you can expect from us:

This is a part-time, paid internship. The hourly rate is $15 / hour at 28-30 hours a week with a Monday - Thursday, 9:00 - 4:00 schedule.

What we are looking for in YOU:



  • Microsoft Office and Google Suite proficiency
  • Basic knowledge of social media application tools

Education and Experience:



  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree, Marketing or Advertising preferred
  • Previous experience in the Marketing realm required


A Day in the Life of a Marketing Intern:



  • Monitors social interaction on the Lamar accounts and responds to comments accordingly
  • Manages social media inboxes
  • Works with the Marketing team to brainstorm and develop relevant content that will help increase social interaction, promote brand identity and drive traffic to the corporate and local websites
  • Updates the employees listed on the local websites as needed
  • Adds approved content to Lamar's corporate and local websites
  • Reviews website analytics and suggests content update opportunities to help drive website conversions
  • Updates Marketing content calendar
  • Updates social media spot on Highspot
  • Stays up to date on social media trends
  • Compiles metrics for monthly marketing reports
  • Tracks press mentions
  • Assists with email marketing campaigns
  • Assists with other marketing projects as needed


Physical Demands and Work Environment



  • The primary work environment for this position is an office.
  • The physical demands for this position include light lifting, reaching, seeing (with a focus on reading, color distinction, and acuity), sitting more than 50% of the time, standing, talking, turning, and walking.
