Reconditions cylinders by performing the following
duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the
following. Other duties may be assigned.
Inspects cylinder interior and exterior before reconditioning.
Devalves cylinders that need to be repainted and retesting.
Tests cylinders for proper steel strength by using re-testing procedure of filling cylinders with water, pressurizing the cylinders with a compressor and reading the computer results.
Determines if cylinder has proper steel strength from computer results.
Sandblasts cylinders for repainting by using sandblasting machine.
Examines finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
Repaints cylinders using spraying equipment.
Revalves cylinders.
Records inventory of new and re-tested cylinders, paint and valves.
Cleans work areas, shotblaster, and paint sprayers.
Helps load and unload cylinders from trucks when needed.
Utilizes Lintrak in a
variety of ways to help with asset management

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively to employees of organization, customers or clients.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee
is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel (e.g.
removing valves); and reach with hands and arms (e.g. moving
cylinders).
The employee
frequently is required to walk (e.g. moving cylinders).
The employee
is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk
or hear.
The employee
must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or
move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
(e.g. cylinders and equipment).
Specific
vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color
vision (e.g. recognize different paint).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee
is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts (e.g. re-testing
equipment).
The employee
is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles (e.g. paint fumes,
dust from shotblasting).
The employee
is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions (e.g. loading and
unloading trucks) and risk of electrical shock (e.g. equipment).
The noise
level in the work environment is usually loud (e.g. shotblaster).

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to work independently as well as with others.
Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time.
General knowledge of computers.
Ability to use small hand tools.

EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
One to three months related experience and/or training; or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
