JOB PURPOSE:

The Resource Coordinator is responsible for identifying local community resources for disaster case management staff. The purpose is to conduct outreach services to raise public awareness of community entities. The Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination between all local agencies.


Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Conduct outreach in the community to raise public awareness of the disaster case management program and connect with local agencies to identify all resources available for the program.
  • Participate in local meetings and events to build relationships between community members and city officials.
  • Complete and maintain a database of all identified community agencies.
  • Serve as a community liaison between Family Endeavors and local entities who are interested in providing services to families.
  • Communicate daily with supervisor and data entry to ensure the maintenance of database and all new community agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services fields. Prior experience in child welfare, emergency disaster response and/or recovery environments to include working within multi-disciplinary teams to develop case plans with specified goals and outcomes is strongly preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are also preferred.

High School diploma or GED is required with 4 years' experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree. Prior experience in child welfare, emergency disaster response and/or recovery environments to include working within multi-disciplinary teams to develop case plans with specified goals and outcomes is strongly preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are also preferred.

EXPERIENCE:



  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, as well as organizational and planning skills
  • Possess sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to work independently and maintain flexibility with work schedule
  • Ensure milestones are met and deadlines are kept
  • Possess the knowledge, ability, and proficiency to provide quality case management services
  • Ensure ability to perform in dynamic, fast-paced, stressful environments associated with disaster response, while appropriately managing concurrent projects and/or tasks
  • Provide appropriate reporting to chain of command, including appropriate documentation, regarding any issues related to all aspects of case management
  • Ensure policies & procedures are strictly adhered, with an emphasis on ethics codes


ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.

LICENSES: Driver's License with clear record.

VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.

OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates. Must pass criminal background checks. Must be available and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as required to meet business needs. Must not pose a threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others.
