Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and skills essential to the performance of behaviors described in this job description, and is accountable to the charge nurse on duty as well as the administrative nurse.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications


  • Six months inpatient telemetry monitoring experience
  • Completion of an EKG Interpretation course
  • Proficient in independent EKG interpretation
  • High School diploma; or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Excellent verbal and written skills; well organized and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Basic computer keyboard skills and general PC knowledge
  • The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations

Preferred Qualifications


  • One year recent inpatient telemetry monitoring experience
  • Experience in medical centralized telemetry setting
  • Knowledge and experience working with Philips, GE, and/or Masimo physiological monitors
