UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Manager Locum Tenens to join our Locum Tenens team. This opportunity is a full-time day shift opening located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Minimum $72,758 - Midpoint $92,747*

*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.

*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.

Summary

Participates in the development of and oversees programs, services, and initiatives designed to enhance program expansion and the recruitment and retention of participating providers and contracted sites. Participates in the development of and oversees the department budgets. Serves as a liaison and develops partnerships within agencies and communities; may work with the Medical Director to develop partnerships with the NM Legislature to promote the Locum Tenens and Specialty Extension programs. Participates in the development of and implements strategic plans and operating policies and procedures as a member of the leadership team. Engages in and is responsible for driving quality processes throughout the program.

Minimum Job Requirements of a Manager Locum Tenens:

High school diploma/GED at least 9 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Manager Locum Tenens:



  1. Participates in the development and implementation of strategic plans, policies, and procedures; establishes and implements short and long-range organizational goals and objectives.
  2. Identifies and assesses new business opportunities for the programs and makes strategic recommendations to senior management regarding possible business development initiatives.
  3. Provides advice and consultation to leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of modifications and enhancements to existing operations, systems, and procedures.
  4. Monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.
  5. Supervises programs to enhance recruitment, retention, and success of faculty, staff, and UNM residents to ensure adequate coverage in rural communities throughout New Mexico.
  6. Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives.
  7. Supervises personnel which includes work allocation, training, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. Serves as an example of expected standards for the department.
  8. Develops and manages annual budgets for the organization and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses; provides collaborative leadership in securing financial resources for the programs.
  9. Serves as a liaison and takes a lead role in developing relationships and establishing collaborations with government agencies, community/civic groups, hospitals and clinics, other universities, and/or UNM faculty and staff, as appropriate to the individual objectives of the program.
  10. Formulates, negotiates, establishes, and administers complex, integrated, high-value contractual arrangements for locum tenens and specialty extension services; evaluates and monitors contractor performance to determine necessity for amendments or extensions to contracts, and compliance to contractual obligations.
  11. Creates and analyzes price proposals, financial reports, and other data to determine reasonableness of prices: reviews and interprets contract provisions to achieve cost efficiencies and reductions where feasible.
  12. Analyzes operational and administrative systems throughout the organization and develops integrated reports used to evaluate operational/administrative effectiveness and efficiency.
  13. Responsible to perform the annual Fair Market Value Analysis.
  14. Provides leadership, administrative management, and operational coordination to various technical, professional, and/or administrative personnel engaged in specified project activities, and appropriate to the position.
  15. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
