Purpose

Ensure that the 300 MW Riverton Plant is a safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally responsible source of power for the Southwest Power Pool (SPP), which will maximize shareholder return on their investment and minimize direct impact to Liberty's bottom line. This position manages plant efforts to ensure compliance with Federal and State environmental regulations at the Riverton Plant. This position provides leadership to ensure that the operation of the Riverton Plant meets Southwest Power Pool Day Ahead and Reliability commitments by providing direction for the operation and maintenance of the plant. This position collaborates with both the Operations and Maintenance Manager to ensure that operational system issues are addressed accordingly. This position works with other Riverton managers to ensure 24/7/365 support for the plant. This position initiates, secures, and manages contracts necessary to ensure that environmental compliance monitoring equipment meet all Federal & State environmental requirements.

Accountabilities
  • Lead plant efforts in driving toward Liberty's Senior Management Triple Zero target, by leading weekly plant safety meetings, ensuring that all safety procedures and processes are followed, developing short and long-term strategies for improving safety by continuously looking for concerns before they occur.
  • Responsible to ensure that the Riverton Plant is compliant with State and Federal environmental regulations.
  • Manage emissions control and monitoring equipment to ensure it is operating properly and is compliant and that reporting requirements are met. Position reduces exposure of company to large fines, possible executive imprisonment, and negative publicity.
  • This position will lead efforts in determining short-and-long term plans to ensure compliance with ever changing State and Federal environmental regulations in the 1-to-6 year time frame.
  • Ensure that the Riverton Plant meets the SPP day ahead and reliability commitments by monitoring plant conditions and optimizing controls to reduce start-up and shutdown times and stress to equipment.
  • Provide 24/7 management of operation and maintenance of the Riverton Plant by being on call and coming out to plant as needed on evenings, nights and weekends.
  • This position is a leading member of the Riverton Plant management team whose function includes developing plans to reduce unplanned and forced outages, while working with other teams in the plants to maximize output and shareholder return.
  • Develop new capital projects which will improve the plant while achieving corporate goals of reducing O&M and increasing plant reliability and availability.
  • Lead Capital projects from conception, scope development and project plan, schedule, proposals, including evaluation and all aspects of project management and completion, including working with inter-company departments.
  • Manage the Energy Supply Multi-Skilled Operator Program at Riverton to ensure that cross-functional teams are adequately trained, this includes on-line video courses, in-person training labs, and formal OJT and functioning as an SME for all Energy Supply Plants.
  • Work as part of the EnergySupply Training team which ensures that training programs are comprehensive and supportive of plant operation and maintenance needs
  • Responsible for coordinating with other plant management on use of personnel, giving proper contractual notice, and determining best use of personnel to provide maximum benefit to company and plant bottom line and plant budget adherence.
  • Develops and/or implements plant/corporate policies, programs and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience
