Sr Accounting Tech

The UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Sr Accounting Tech to join our Locum Tenens Rural department. This opportunity is a full-time day shift opening located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Hybrid Position-Selected candidate must have a permanent address and live in New Mexico or be willing to relocate to New Mexico.

Minimum $38,916 - Midpoint $48,651*

*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.

*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.

Summary:

UNM Medical Group Locum Tenens serves in an effort to improve access to health care in communities throughout New Mexico. We place a strong emphasis on supplying high caliber staff to rural and medically underserved areas at affordable rates. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, including accruals and month-end close tasks. You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing aging reports and supporting the collections process. Proficiency in interpreting financial statements is essential, as you will be involved in reclassifying and splitting expenses across various entities.

Minimum Job Requirements of a Sr Accounting Tech:

High school diploma or GED with at least 5 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Sr Accounting Tech:

1. Initiates expenditure documents for approval; and ensures expenditure control and compliance with organizational purchasing requirements and standard accounting procedures.
2. Constructs routine spreadsheet applications, prepares financial data for input into finance and subsidiary systems, and generates reports from these systems.
3. Prepares regularly scheduled and special billings, maintains records, researches and resolves problems and responds to questions.
4. Reviews and initiates reimbursements for approval. Ensures appropriate supporting documentation is provided. Researches discrepancies and coordinates resolution with employees and/or department managers.
5. Analyzes, reconciles, balances, and maintains accounting records; develops special financial reports.
6. May coordinate and monitor data processing batches including suspense control, cash counts, and balancing.
7. May supervise and/or lead lower graded staff and/or student employees.
8. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
