The Opportunity

Ulteig is excited to announce we are seeking a Civil Design Engineer who will engage with Ulteig's civil teams to provide innovative design solutions to facilitate the development, design, and construction of transportation projects. The selected candidate will be involved with the design of small to large multi-discipline projects. Candidates must be self-motivated with excellent communication skills and an ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Ulteig is a 100% employee-owned company with ESOP contribution for eligible employees after the first year of service.

What You'll Do



  • Maintain a value engineering mindset throughout development, design, and construction.
  • Perform construction observation duties on assigned projects.
  • Maintain records, construction quantities, checklists, daily reports, and documentation for construction administration projects in accordance with municipality requirements.
  • Coordinate on-site materials testing.
  • Perform work within both office and field settings.
  • Apply current, standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to complete engineering tasks.
  • Develop plans, specifications, and observation reports that are complete, accurate, and in accordance with engineering practices.
  • Work closely with and guide engineering technicians and graduate engineers.
  • Check design computations performed by the internal civil design team when appropriate.
  • Prepare reports and correspondence concerning the direction of assigned projects.
  • Review plans and specifications for accuracy, quality, constructability, safety, and risk management considerations.
  • Work closely with business and engineering staff across multiple offices and technical disciplines.



What We Expect from You



  • B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent required.
  • Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) registration required.
  • Minimum 2 years of civil engineering experience required.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skills.
  • Experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Experience in CAD Software Applications such as C3D or Bentley MicroStation preferred.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Compensation Range is Generally +/- 15% of Position Mid-Point of $86,800
