Description

Denison University invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor in the Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences, to begin in August 2024. We are seeking a broadly trained Environmental and(or) Earth scientist to teach four courses (2/2) over the academic year in introductory Earth & Environmental Sciences and a course in their specialty (including but not limited to weather & climate, ecological & environmental change, climate & human history or other environmental science course). Successful candidates are expected to be outstanding teacher-scholars and, as a liberal arts college, we will prioritize candidates who evidence a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students.

Candidates will have a Ph.D. by August 2024 in Earth and(or) Environmental sciences or a closely related field (however, ABD will be considered). Priority review of applicants will begin June 28, 2024, although applications will be open until the position is filled.
