Who we're looking for

Toyota'sPE VMI Battery Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivatedsenior engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role will support the PE Battery Pack Assembly group's objective to study product changes, plan future model activities, and implement new product launches across North America Manufacturing Companies [NAMCs].

Reporting to the Battery Pack PE Seibi Manager, the person in this role will support the Battery Pack Assembly group's objective to implement new model product launches across North America, through leading production equipment information system development, installation, and confirmation.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead Battery Pack Assembly information systems development process with Site and Global Teams. Heavy network infrastructure, hardware interfacing, data collection, and server communication scripting are required.
  • Developing information system specifications for vendor design, fabrication, and installation
  • Lead interaction between Battery Pack Assembly, IS / One-Tech, EDC, MDT, and NAMC working groups.
  • Lead Battery Pack Assembly information systems integration to each build line and each production process for Line Control, Battery Parts Selection, Traceability, and Production Andon
  • Lead development of Information System Technology Notices for Battery Pack PE North America
  • Plan, monitor, and track project status for design, fabrication, installation, and confirmation.
  • Investigate and resolve interlock issues between production lines and information systems, during setup and production trials
  • Teach BPPE engineers about equipment integration requirements for North America
  • Engage in travel (or dispatch) to U.S., Canada, and/or Mexico NAMCs and suppliers, as well as foreign travel including Japan, Canada, and Mexico. Commonly work overtime, including weekends and holidays

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering or Associate's Degree in Technical field with equivalent work experience [7 years]
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and across multiple shifts to support tooling modification and installation projects
  • Abilities & willingness to work 25% over time, including 12-hour shifts, weekend work, and shutdown/ holiday support.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts as needed to support project work
  • Ability & willingness to travel 50%, domestically and internationally
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • 5 Years Experience with Information Systems - Networking [FLNet, Ethernet IP]
  • 5 Years Experience with Information Systems - Data Collection [QIS, EDC, MDT]
  • 5 Years Experience with Andon / Line Control - Production Line control, Indication of status, Collection of DownTime events, Event Communication - Reporting, Visualization, Callout
  • 4 Years Experience with Production Equipment procurement, installation, and/or confirmation
  • 5 Years Experience with PLC Programming - Toyopuc, Omron, Seimens
  • Proficiency with MS Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Word, TEAMs

What you may bring

  • 4 Years Experience with Toyopuc PCL programming
  • 4 years experience with Assembly, Body, or Powertrain Information Systems
  • 4 years experience with Assembly, Body, or Powertrain Quality Information systems and Traceability
  • 5 years experience with Oracle / SQL Server database operation
  • 3 years experience with Assembly, Body, or Powertrain Equipment procurement and confirmation
  • Experience with C++, C#, Java, HTML or Python
  • TBP Completion through Panel
  • OSHA 10 certification
