Vaco is looking for an Accounting Analyst for a large construction company in Jacksonville. Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Information Systems Specialist with a strong background in financial reporting and construction accounting. The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing and optimizing accounting systems, generating accurate financial reports, ensuring quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) in reports, and serving as a subject matter expert in Microsoft 365 applications. Additionally, experience with Workday Adaptive and Power BI reporting is highly desirable. Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Develop and maintain accurate and timely financial reports in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial reporting and business objectives. Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Reports: Establish and implement QA/QC processes for financial reports to ensure accuracy and reliability. Conduct regular reviews and audits of financial data to identify and resolve discrepancies. Develop and maintain documentation of QA/QC procedures and findings. Microsoft/Dynamics 365 Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the primary point of contact for Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, SharePoint, and Teams Workday Adaptive: Utilize Workday Adaptive to streamline budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes. Configure and customize Workday Adaptive to meet the specific needs of the organization. Generate insightful reports and dashboards in Workday Adaptive to support strategic decision-making. Power BI Reports: Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to visualize key financial metrics. Integrate data from multiple sources into Power BI for comprehensive analysis and reporting. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights. Adding New Accounts: Coordinate the setup and maintenance of new accounts in the accounting system. Ensure accurate classification and coding of transactions for newly added accounts. Conduct periodic reviews of account structures to optimize efficiency and accuracy. Construction Accountant Background: Apply specialized knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices to financial reporting and analysis. Manage project accounting activities, including job costing, revenue recognition, and WIP (Work in Progress) reporting. Provide guidance on accounting treatment for construction-related transactions and contracts. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in Accounting Information Systems or construction Accounting Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, with advanced skills in Excel and SharePoint. Experience with Workday Adaptive and Power BI reporting tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
