Peoria's Planning Department has an excellent opportunity for a Fixed-Term Benefited Business Systems Analyst who will analyze business requirements for assigned development-related departments and act as a liaison in translating requirements to IT partners. Some of the daily duties consist of working with cross-functional teams to help design solutions and analyze customer and business needs; collaborating with users to evaluate program and system effectiveness; conducting research; making recommendations on software and hardware needs; participating in testing; coordinating and conducting end-user training of business systems and technology; and supporting metrics reporting and data needs.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:



  • Experience with workflow analysis, sequence diagrams, storyboards, and test cases.
  • Experience developing and mining data for operational metrics and building reports.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to anticipate business needs and think with a business owner mindset.

Minimum Requirements:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of systems application analysis, programming, and related experience specific to assigned area.


Preferred / Desirable Qualifications:



  • Experience in a municipal or government setting.
  • Knowledge of the development processes.
  • Experience within Accela or another permitting system software is preferred.
  • PMI-PBA certification PMP certification
