Job Title/High Level Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in both static and dynamic development to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing complex mechanical systems, ensuring their reliability and performance under various load conditions. The Mechanical Engineer will work with a high performing product development team to extend our current product offering with innovative mechanical solutions. This role will be specifically focused on the development of mechanical solutions intended to be part of static and dynamic systems for laser, shockwave or electrotherapy therapeutic devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components, applying advanced principles of static and dynamic mechanics for medical devices dedicated to professional (Chattanooga, Lightforce), consumer (Compex) or veterinarian (Companion) markets.
  • Perform structural analyses to evaluate the strength, stability, and durability of products under different stresses.
  • Model and simulate the behavior of mechanical systems using CAD/CAE software and simulation tools (such as ANSYS, SolidWorks, MATLAB).
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure efficient integration of mechanical systems into final products.
  • Participate in and lead design reviews and propose improvements to optimize performance and reduce costs.
  • Prepare and present detailed technical reports, documentation, and project updates to stakeholders and management
  • Contribute to new product development project success in a multidisciplinary, international team
  • Demonstrate an understanding of design control requirements for medical devices and navigate the product development process to release successful products to the market
  • Work for innovative, cost effective and reliable solutions
  • Support existing products maintenance
  • Collaborate with internal (quality, regulatory, supply, etc.) and external partners (manufacturers, design partners, suppliers)

Minimum Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Proven experience in the design and analysis of complex mechanical systems
  • Strong skills in static and dynamic development with track records, including the use of modeling and simulation tools
  • Deep knowledge of materials, manufacturing methods, and industry standards
  • Motivated by the challenge to start a mechanical design from the beginning with no predecessor
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAE and simulation software, SolidWorks is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and effectively communicate technical concepts
  • 5+ years of industrial experience in mechanical design solutions, preferably in the Medical Device Industry or another highly regulated environment
  • Previous experience in an R&D or manufacturing environment is highly desirable

  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken), French or Spanish is a plus
  • Motivation and interest to work in the highly regulated medical devices world
  • Focused, goal oriented and well organized
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous
  • Self-motivated with a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong team spirit and ability to evolve in an international and multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to work under strong timing pressure; manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
