Duties and Responsibilities
The Leischner Department of Medical Education ( DME) at Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine ( SSOM) is seeking a tenure track educator with advanced skills in teaching and research. The educator will teach in faculty development courses and the department's proposed master's program. Additionally, they will lead scholarly efforts to enhance credibility and visibility of strategic departmental efforts. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in curriculum development, faculty development, innovations in curriculum, and outcomes research, with a particular focus on assessing the impact and outcomes of these initiatives.

Candidates must have a Ph.D., or equivalent and postdoctoral experience or equivalent experience.

The Leischner Department of Medical Education ( DME) at Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine ( SSOM) is seeking a tenure track educator with advanced skills in teaching and research. The educator will teach in faculty development courses and the department's proposed master's program. Additionally, they will lead scholarly efforts to enhance credibility and visibility of strategic departmental efforts. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in curriculum development, faculty development, innovations in curriculum, and outcomes research, with a particular focus on assessing the impact and outcomes of these initiatives.
The SSOM is creating a new Master of Health Professions Education degree program and related certificate program geared towards senior health profession students, medical residents, and practicing healthcare providers. This faculty hire will be the Assistant Director to the program and therefore play a critical role in recruitment of potential students and the maintenance of ongoing student development through mentorship. The faculty member is essential for curriculum development, student evaluation, and program assessment. Additionally, the Assistant Director will teach several courses within the program, including those related to anti-racism pedagogy and organizational change. They will be pivotal in creating a sense of community within the program, thereby reducing disengagement and exhaustion. This role offers an opportunity for someone committed to enhancing medical education, scholarly output, and mentorship along the continuum of undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education, and continuing medical education for faculty.
