Overview

The Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (Cuyahoga DD) is seeking an IST Supervisor to plan, monitor and coordinate implementation of specialized interdisciplinary teams (IDT) including organization of ongoing meetings, data analysis, coordination of therapeutic interventions and outcome measurement, and supervise Behavior and Curriculum Intervention (BCIS) staff. The nature of work will include, but is not limited to the following:

    Organize and coordinate weekly interdisciplinary team meetings for individuals with unique needs and their families.
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings.
  • Follow team structure to ensure consistency: assessment, service provision, fade, and discharge.
  • Identify point in intervention when to refer to external providers.
  • Develop contacts and maintain contracts with external providers for ABA and non-ABA supports.
  • Monitor and track payment, budgets for individuals and for project, supplies, equipment, etc., and invoicing with contracted external provider agencies.
  • Ensure and monitor all documentation from team members is up to date and electronically stored for access.
  • Track all individual and team outcomes.
  • Monitor and adjust goals within the team process for individual and family outcomes and communicate progress with support administration staff as needed.
  • Provide supervision, performance evaluation and feedback to all BCIS staff. Assign and prioritize caseloads based on operational needs.
  • Plan and facilitate BCIS departmental meetings including development of agenda, professional development/training opportunities as applicable.
  • Monitor elements and implementation of school age support services delivered by BCIS staff including but not limited to maintaining relationships with school districts, assigning referrals to staff and monitoring productivity.
  • Maintain and monitor timekeeping data for BCIS staff including professional leave requests, absences and timecards. Monitor, review and approve mileage and Outlook calendar, flex and staffing coverage.
  • Makes recommendations for professional and technical equipment for use in school age services and IST. Order, manage and monitor equipment lending for BCIS and IST staff.
  • Oversee use of virtual reality hardware and software and maintain ongoing relationship with vendor as needed.
  • Assist with departmental budget pertaining to BCIS and IST.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other public systems as needed.
  • Attend meetings with external agencies to ensure consistent communication and programming.
  • Review IEP, and/or ISP outcomes and electronic files.
  • Observe, monitor, and adjust coaching strategies within Teams on a regular and ongoing basis.
  • Develop and/or conduct in-service training opportunities as related to best practice and efficiency in behavioral supports and various intervention strategies.
  • As necessary, represent Cuyahoga DD in dealings with other State, regional and local agencies, and organizations. As necessary, attend and participate in meetings, committees, conferences and make presentations on applicable topics.
  • Make recommendations for professional and technical equipment for use by individuals and/or Teams.
  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of BCIS candidates.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES: Supervise and evaluate all Behavior and Curriculum Intervention Specialists.

PERSONAL CONTACTS: Cuyahoga DD related services staff, managers/supervisors, Assistive Technology managers and staff, staff from community partner agencies, families, staff from other state and local programs.

** SALARY : The salary range posted in the header is the full range for employees in Pay Schedule D. It is not the range for a new hire. Starting salaries may be negotiable based on the breadth and depth of the knowledge, skills, and experiences brought by the candidate based on the qualifications listed below. It is the Cuyahoga DD's intent to pay a salary that is reasonable and competitive based on the market rate for the position, and because we are committed to our current employees, internal equity is also a factor when hiring new staff.

Remote Work: Our positions are not remote. There is an onsite expectation for all of our positions. Although we do permit some remote work at home with flexible, hybrid work schedules for some of our positions, we do expect staff to be able to commute to our facilities in Cuyahoga County, Ohio on a regular basis. We have facilities in Parma, Cleveland, and Highland Hills, Ohio. All employees will be based in one of these three cities. We do not currently offer any fully remote positions. All positions come with the expectation that the employee will work onsite at an assigned facility in Cuyahoga County some days each week as directed.



Qualifications

  • Master's degree in special education or related field required.
  • Ohio Department of Education K-12 Intervention Specialist license required.
  • DODD Service and Support Administrator Supervisor Certificate required but may be obtained upon hire.
  • Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities required.
  • Thorough knowledge of field of studies from: speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, counseling, psychology, special education.
  • Experience in implementation of various behavioral strategies for individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Practical experience and training in family coaching in home-based setting as a learning strategy, highly desirable.
  • Valid state of Ohio driver's license and an excellent driving record.
