Position Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the day-to-day operational activities of communities in the Bay Area region (under the direction of the Senior Vice President) in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern assisted living and adult day health care services. The SVP will direct this position to assure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times in the various facilities and programs.

As a member of the Eskaton Executive Team, this position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations, and is delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out the assigned duties. In the absence of the Executive Director, this position is charged with carrying out all operational responsibilities of the community in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and professional standards of Eskaton policies.

The starting salary for this position ranges from $131,700 to $188,608 annually. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.

Position Responsibilities include:



  • Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to assure that client care is of the highest quality as directed by the Executive Director of the division.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the budget and staffing systems which will ensure effective and efficient use of financial and human resources.
  • In consultation with the Executive Director, the incumbent analyzes current operational data and develops and implements new programs, which meet the needs of the clients/participants. Maintains programs in line with Eskaton's long range goals and objectives.
  • Assists the Executive Director in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the facilities within the division.
  • Assists in establishing policies that govern the resident's right to quality of life and care as defined by the resident's comprehensive assessment and care plan.
  • Participates in facility/program surveys, (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
  • Reviews and develops a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provides a written copy of such plans to the Executive Director for his review/approval.
  • Ensures excellent client and employee satisfaction.
  • Ensures the continuance of Eskaton's excellent reputation throughout the local community by providing quality resident care and maintaining positive interactions with the local community through public relations and marketing.
  • Develops and meets annual goals and objectives considering future growth and changing environmental, market, and other trends.
  • Assists with the implementation of all Eskaton and facility policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the financial viability of the facilities/program by providing analytical data as required by the Executive Director to obtain operational targets.
  • Assists other Executives in providing the highest achievable quality and service at a competitive price.
  • Participates in the development of contracts with resources in the community qualified to provide services required for diagnostic and therapeutic services, prescribed by patient's physician, as required by the type of facility or program.
  • Conducts periodic facility visits to review operational performance and to understand/help solve organizational issues.


    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    This position requires a minimum of five years' experience in an administrative or operations/financial management role and experience in assisted living, continuing care, adult day health services or other related health entities. Requires current knowledge of federal, state and local regulations related to all levels of licensing; requires keeping abreast of current trends and new developments in healthcare administration. Certain types of education may be substituted for experience.

    It requires effective verbal and literary communication skills to interact with all levels of management, other employees, and outside contacts; requires effective managerial and inter-personal skills; requires excellent fiscal and budgetary skills and the ability to plan, organize, and implement work and be flexible enough to shift priorities quickly and work under pressure with constantly changing demands.

    Education
    A minimum of a B.A. degree is required, and a valid California Assisted Living Administration license. A master's degree in business administration is preferable.

    The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, COVID test, TB screen test and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
