The Machinist is an important member of the manufacturing team and is responsible for machining various parts to the correct specifications using Lathes and Mills machines. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reads blueprint or job order for product. Operate machinery, set-up and run presses. Able to use basic hand tools. Verifies that parts are of high quality and exceed customer's expectations. Observe all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and observe all safety requirements such as machining guards, lifting techniques, slips and falls prevention, etc. QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge/Skills/Education) 0-3 years' experience and/or Vo-Tech training Knowledge of Aerospace assemblies and parts (preferred) Ability to read and understand instructions; quality control; and safety. Effective verbal, written communications skills. Basic math and computer skills. Must be able to read, evaluate and respond to product specifications and drawings.
