  • Position Summary



    • This position is designed for someone interested in joining a collaborative and productive data analysis team at the MaineHealth Institute for Research, based in Scarborough, Maine. The successful Research Data Analyst will integrate, clean, analyze, and present data in support of assigned projects and/or assigned departments. They will routinely provide statistical consulting and use applied statistics, sampling, univariate, multivariate, and time-to-event analytic techniques in analysis. The successful individual in this position will also be enthusiastic about learning new analytical techniques as needed. They will be integral to study designs; implementations; and data management, monitoring and reporting. This role requires a strong ability to work independently.

      The position is based at our Westbrook, Maine location, but a flexible work schedule within/outside of Maine may be available.





  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)



    • Education: Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred


    • License/Certifications: N/A


    • Experience: 3 - 5 years experience analyzing data required, in healthcare preferred.


    • Ability to work and interact with multiple departments.


    • Ability to manage multiple projects.


    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential attributes for this position.


    • Intermediate knowledge of and experience with spreadsheet, relational database, graphics and word processing software is required. Intermediate skills with at least one statistical software package is required, e.g SAS, R, STATA, SPSS.


    • Experience in working with large clinical and/or administrative claims databases, including both for management and analysis is desirable.


    • Capable of searching and critically appraising medical literature.


    • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey complex concepts to a diverse audience.


    • Ability to work independently and self-directed.


    • Ability to pay attention to detail.
