About the Job

Summary of Position:
This teaching specialist position will provide classroom teaching for Mammalogy (EEB 4129) lab sections for fall semester 2024. They will co-teach (with a Graduate TA) three lab sections per week, set up and put away museum specimens, give introductory lectures for labs, design and give lab quizzes, and help grade written assignments.

Essential and Other Functions:

80% --> Co-teach three lab sections of EEB 4129, grade student work

20% --> Lab setup and clean up, TA coordination meetings

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:
-Masters' Degree in Biology or closely related discipline;
-Experience working with museum specimens;
-Knowledge of mammalian anatomy, systematics, and identification
-The appointee is not required to have the same credentials expected of faculty, but must have demonstrated competence to teach the course material.
-Professional and/or teaching experience related to assigned instructional responsibilities may be required.
