Department Overview
UCOP Human Resources is dedicated to serving and supporting staff, and to building a work environment where employees feel involved and empowered to offer their best. Our HR Business Partners are assigned by department and provide guidance regarding all local HR services. Other staff units cover benefits, disability and leave, talent acquisition and employment, learning and development, and compensation.

Position Summary
The Senior Recruiter will work to ensure that the UC Office of the President is positioned to attract, source and recruit the best talent, both internally and externally. This individual will play a senior-level consulting role and be responsible for developing sourcing and recruitment strategies for the headquarter office. The Senior Recruiter will assist in defining the hiring needs of their respective client organizations, collaborating with senior executives as well as Human Resource Business Partners. The Senior Recruiter will facilitate strategy discussions and complete assignments with full-cycle recruiting responsibility. Technical leader who provides guidance to all levels within the organization, utilizing specialized employment expertise within area of responsibility to resolve highly complex issues in creative and effective ways. Recruiting and search efforts represent difficult or unique positions to staff. Internal and external contacts often pertain to significant employment programs and objectives. Normally receives little direction on assignments. May serve in a lead capacity, providing guidance to other employment professionals. Please note this is a Hybrid position with three days a week on-site.

Key Responsibilities

80% SENIOR RECRUITER FUNCTIONS as a technical specialist, sourcing, recruiting and identifying candidates for highly specialized and difficult-to-attract positions, usually requiring extensive search. Conduct full-life cycle recruiting services for selected executive, management, senior-level, and strategic positions within multiple fields. (Sr. Manager - Vice President level roles). Create strategic recruiting campaigns to recruit specific groups of positions at multiple levels (i.e finance, IT, student affairs, human resources, etc.). Consult and advise senior executives. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to a broad and diverse audience, but especially to managers and candidates. Experience developing effective outreach and diversity recruitment strategies. Experience providing effective customer service and follow-through in a high-volume work environment, including listening to customer needs, responding appropriately in a timely manner. Engage and manage external search firms. Demonstrated experience with applicant tracking systems. Provides direction and guidance to other talent staff members. Works in a highly collaborative manner with others across the organization, external contacts of significance, and members of organization management. Prioritizes own work assignments, identifies problems, conducts complex and varied analysis of issues or concepts, develops resulting recommendations, works with business units in the development of ideas and strategies to address short and long-term employment issues. Works to build diverse applicant pools within the senior management recruitments.

20% PROJECT MANAGEMENT - Leads and/or serve as an individual contributor for projects with organization-wide scope and impact.

May Serve as lead member of recruiting team and mentor team members on recruiting strategies and processes.

Experience
Required Qualifications

Minimum of 8 - 10 years of successively advanced full-cycle recruitment experience including: advising and supporting hiring managers through the recruitment process; sourcing, recruiting, interviewing and selecting applicants; interpreting and applying relevant statutes and policies

Skills and Abilities
Required Qualifications

Minimum of 8 years recruiting experience.

Demonstrates advanced knowledge of organizational policies and procedures; advanced knowledge of functional area and understands how work impacts other areas in Human Resources and the organization.

Has advanced knowledge of the recruitment, screening, interviewing and referral processes.

Must have skills associated with conducting needs assessment, providing input on candidate selection, problem solving, effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated skills to:- Source and qualify mid-level to executive level roles- Assess customer needs and candidate profiles, screen applications, analyze labor market trends, and research employment-related issues- Create strategies for difficult-to-recruit jobs, and screen senior level candidates- Consult and advise senior executives- Partner with Talent Manager to lead and drive projects in a complex organization- Superior writing, editing, communication, and counseling skills- Knowledge of employment law, diversity and outreach, AA/EEO principles and their appropriate application in an employment setting- Demonstrated effective training and presentation skills for diverse audiences- Proficiency with key software programs including Windows, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous executive recruiting experience. Ability to design workshops and trainings. Experience with succession planning and talent management.

Full Salary Range:
$95,300 - $178,100

The University of California, Office of the President, is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
