Assistant/Associate Coach - Varsity Boys Basketball

Cranbrook Athletics is seeking applicants passionate with a passion for coaching for our varsity Boys' Basketball team for the 2024-25 season. Cranbrook has a proud athletic tradition that includes hundreds of conference, district, and regional titles. We have won an incredible 99 State Championships in seven different sports and outstanding athletics facilities, including the Thompson Oval, Wallace Ice Arena, Williams Natatorium, Keppel Gymnasium, Jack Sanders Diamond Baseball Field, and one of the premier Tennis complexes in the nation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Coaching responsibilities include management of all facets of the Boys Basketball program but are not limited to:



  • Building competitive teams.
  • Organizing and running practices.
  • Developing and implementing effective game strategies.
  • Supervising and working with assistant coaches.


Expectations:

As a coach, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining a high standard of integrity in all aspects of team management. More than that, you will have the opportunity to foster a culture that promotes the school's values and significantly influences the student's academic experience. We expect you to intentionally integrate school core values as the framework to coach and build athletic programs.

Requirements:



  • Successful candidates will have at least three years of successful coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level or in a club setting.
  • Candidates with ties to youth and AAU basketball in the Detroit area will be given strong consideration.
  • Candidates should have demonstrated communication and community relations abilities and work effectively with students, staff, administration, and parents.
