About Us

The team includes medical assistants, nursing staff, health education staff, a laboratory scientist, a pharmacist, and medical providers. We are primarily funded by student fees, do not accept insurance, and are able to offer our students low or no-cost services. We largely treat acute illness and minor injury, perform age- and lifestyle-appropriate screening, and have the time and capacity to provide both individualized and population-based focus on health education and preventive care. The Role

As the Associate Director, you'll be an integral part of the leadership team reporting to the Sr. Director of Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) and the SHC. You will oversee medical assistant, nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, and health education operations; directly supervise staff; coordinate administrative projects; lead accreditation efforts; write and update policies and procedures; engage in strategic planning and budget management; build and maintain a strong, collaborative team; as well as provide medical care and health education to our students. You'll play a key role in ensuring the excellence and effectiveness of health services and will make a meaningful impact on the current and future health of SSU students.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need a Master's Degree in Nursing, be licensed as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner, have 5 years of experience in medical practice, and have strong administrative and leadership skills. We're seeking an individual who is an excellent communicator in both written and verbal formats, is proficient with computers and software including electronic health records, works collaboratively as part of a team, and has a commitment to delivering exceptional services.

Salary and Benefits

Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $11,000 to $12,862 a month. This position is a member of the Management Personnel Plan and serves at the pleasure of the President.

This position is eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 15 paid holidays are offered each year. Sonoma State University is also a Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) Employer.
