PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Warehouse Supervisor at the Fort Smith plant will be responsible for all warehouse, storage, and shipping processes. They provide technical leadership in the resolution of warehouse problems effectively communicating with all levels of the organization to include internal customers and suppliers. This position helps to implement organizational strategies, standards, and practices to achieve best-in-class performance. The Warehouse Supervisor is key to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities. To assure a safe and orderly work flow, they ensure standard work, SWP's, JHA's, PJHA's, LPA's, Quick Kaizens and other improvement tools are used directed.

Performs back up duties for Warehouse Coordinator, Warehouse Leads and serves as backup/support for Material Planning Supervisor.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Span of Control: Hourly employees including Warehouse Coordinator/s, Warehouse Shift Lead/s, Warehouse Shipper/Receivers, and Production Support Drivers.

  • Drives expectations and seeks best practices to drive world-class safety performance
  • Insures safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work areas, building a culture where EHS excellence is the top priority for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Identifies and immediately corrects risks and hazards in the workplace



Lead Warehouse Operations



  • Lead and coordinates warehouse operations and workforce
  • Conducts shift huddles to communicate daily action plans, company news, and safety information
  • Communicates with carriers and customers to achieve necessary business outcomes
  • Coordinates shuttle activity with spotters and shuttle drivers.
  • Manages inventory controls
  • Sets up and maintains material storage plans (locations, blocked storage, quality issues, material on hold, FIFO etc.)
  • Develops expert knowledge and usage of electronic plant systems including, but not limited to: SAP, WMS.
  • Key leader of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities
  • Enforces housekeeping and 5S expectations to warehouse team
  • Performs safety audits and Job Hazard Assessment (JHA) reviews
  • Drives alignment between plant departments
  • Utilizes the Warehouse Management and computer systems to perform administrative functions
  • Communicates warehouse issues to management (internal and external)
  • Audits all outbound and inbound shipments for accuracy and compliance to policies

  • Participates in recruiting, interviewing, and screening processes for warehouse candidates, plan and conduct warehouse employee onboarding and training plans.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School Diploma/GED Required.

    • Prefer advanced education or certifications in field


  • Two years related warehousing/logistics experience
  • Minium 2 Years experience in a leadership position
  • Demonstrated competence or capability to learn Microsoft Office, Kronos, and SAP



Essential Physical Requirements



  • Adequate vision to operate a powered industrial vehicle.
  • Visual ability to determine spatial awareness and operate a forklift accordingly.
  • Ability to safeguard self with proper PPE for the specific task
  • Exposure to hot/cold temperature- periodically
  • Exposure to noise- periodically
  • Hand/Eye Coordination- continuously
  • Walk, Sit, Stand for duration of shift with regular breaks
  • Lift/carry/move up to 25 lbs. independently and heavier weights with assistance.
  • Climb stairs, steps, and ladders
  • Ability to work extended hours as necessary
  • Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles up to 12 hours per shift.
  • Able to Operate Computers & Computerized equipment for quality, safety and compliance testing and training.
  • Communicate with co-workers face to face, by telephone, and electronic communications.
  • Possess manual dexterity necessary to operate equipment, operate a computer and other standard office equipment.
  • Vision adequate to manipulate equipment controls, complete paperwork, utilize computers, and have depth perception.
