Sourcing Director - Clinical Category Management

Summary:

In this role, you will lead strategy development and execution for the creation of custom contracts for healthcare providers to reduce spend, improve operational efficiencies, maximize delivered value, and ultimately achieve a higher level of provider satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage sourcing principles and guide resources and subject matter experts in the application of procurement tactics, supply/demand analysis, market intelligence and extensive product cross-referencing for assigned categories of spend.

  • Provide leadership and strategic consultation in identifying, analyzing, and managing innovative and complex cost savings opportunities and process improvements to meet specific client requirements.

  • Execute initiatives that require collaboration and negotiation across multiple internal and external stakeholders, leveraging a broader understanding of business engagements and requirements.

  • Make recommendations for cost savings projects and oversee efforts from initiation to completion.

  • Anticipate differences in provider and supplier experiences for execution of cost projects.

  • Manage and direct contract maintenance efforts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions necessary to achieve cost savings.

  • Support management of vendor relationships to cross reference, organize in-services, schedule trials, and resolve issues with products.

  • Design, oversee, and deliver communication strategies to key executives and other stakeholders regarding successes, opportunities, and challenges.

  • Proactively collaborate with and maintain relationships across internal and external senior leaders.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.

  • 7 or more years of relevant experience required.

  • Subject matter expertise in healthcare operations, supply cost management, contracting, clinical or value analysis required.

  • Experience working with and interpreting various types of data (clinical, operational, supply chain), quantifying challenges and suggesting alternatives.

  • Exceptional presentation skills and experience tailored to various professional audiences including hospital executives.

  • Proven project management, communication, and facilitation skills to lead subject matter experts to common outcomes.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products.

  • Candidate must reside in MN, ND or WI.

  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $168,800.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
