Information Technology Services Job Description

Job Summary

Participates in the building, implementation and ongoing support of integration-centric offerings. Work closely with the Workday Program Team, the other members of the Data & Integrations Team and other cross-functional teams with the ultimate goal of supporting campus leaders to make timely business decisions. As part of a high-performance integration team, focus on driving innovation and improving delivery effectiveness in an environment of the growing demand for real-time data integration across a diverse mix of technologies, protocols, standards, and platforms.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in the implementation of integration architectures, roadmaps, and system transition plans to align business, applications, data, integration, and/or infrastructure architecture.
  • Collaborate with project teams and business users to document architecture decisions (for example, logical, conceptual, physical diagrams).
  • Provide input into the development of the integration strategy and technology direction.
  • Educate others throughout the organization on the function of integration methodologies, governance, and standards by serving as a domain guide across business and/or IT teams.
  • Support the development and implementation of integration solutions linking cloud and custom on-premises applications, and assist in retiring legacy integrations.
  • Identify and implement internal controls and technological improvements to data and information processing systems.
  • Assist with the design of data models that support modern data analytics business requirements and current trends in Data Management
  • Assess impacts of changes in order to develop optimal solutions to benefit the organization.
  • Support the development and maintenance of technical roadmaps and investment plans for the evolution of the enterprise data integration platforms and technologies.

Minimum Qualifications (knowledge, skills, education, experience, certifications, licenses)

  • Bachelor's Degree, plus a minimum of two years' experience architecting and developing large-scale and complex data systems or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Significant study in information technology, computer science, data science or related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing and documentation.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with information security, code management, and data management best practices
  • Experience working in a higher education, academic environment.

Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with data modeling concepts and tools.
  • Strong ability to explain complex topics to an organizationally diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Experience in the authoring and delivering data architecture artifacts including data models, data flows and data mappings.
  • Demonstrated experience in object-oriented design, modeling, development, and support of object/relational database systems and systems documentation
  • Experience with Oracle SQL query design, query optimization, troubleshooting, stored procedure development, or equivalent database management system
  • Programming skills using J2EE, Design Patterns, JMS, SOAP / REST Web Services, XSLT, CXF, Spring Framework, etc.
  • Knowledge of EAI /SOA Design Patterns and Best Practices.
  • Experience with Web Service/Microservice (WebAPI, JSON) architectures.
  • Understanding and demonstrated ability to build solutions using RESTful API endpoints and web services as destination and/or source.
  • Must be able to multitask and manage both long and short-term projects.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision in a dynamic team environment.
  • Strong tenacity and ability to manage complexity and ambiguity.
  • Work effectively, independently, and within a collaborative environment using good judgment in decision-making.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, detail oriented and work towards multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Maintain robust awareness of the evolving data integration field, with a particular focus on iPaaS (integration Platform as a Service) approaches .
