Purpose

Serve as analyst responsible for performing technical analysis, file validation reviews, document business requirements, system analysis, and system configuration for Human Resources, Payroll, and Financial areas.

Responsibilities
  • Support Operational Activities - Support ongoing operational support, including bug fixes and enhancements by documenting requirements, performing system testing, and ongoing system operational mass processing.
  • Systems Support - Proactively communicate stakeholder needs to vendors and system developers. Promote the importance of needed product changes. Actively research and analyze system functionality, roadmaps and upcoming feature releases to best prepare Business Process Owners for change impacts and process improvements.
  • Isolate Problems - Gather input from customer stakeholders, perform analysis on Human Capital Management, Academic, Student Employment and/or Benefits/Payroll transactions, exercise judgment based on analysis, coordinate closely with EBITS Technical Solutions team and Business Process Owners (HR Academic Professional Services, Student Employment Offices, Payroll, HR.) to troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, etc.
  • Document Solutions - Working with other eBITS team members, research, document, test and validate solutions. Document business rules and system requirements. Develop process or procedure documentation, diagrams, matrices, or workflows.
  • Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Training or experience in a business analyst role, typically achieved through a Bachelor's Degree or two years of experience in performing the work of a business analyst for administrative systems.
  • Experience gathering requirements, and documenting and testing complex technical processes.
  • Experience developing and documenting work requirements, rules work flows, reports and presentations for automation projects.
  • Ability to work across organizational units to achieve goals.
  • Experience with performing data analysis and/or data validation.
  • Ability to learn, understand and configure vendor systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Self-managed and highly motivated with a strong drive for delivering high quality results.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in some aspect of delivering successful projects.
  • Experience with Workday.
  • Experience with HR processing at a Higher Education institution.
  • Experience with UT Austin administrative systems.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Experience with business process modeling.
  • Experience with software development.
Salary Range

$63,000 + depending on qualifications
