IT Hardware Asset Management Analyst

Position Summary

Reporting to the Hardware Asset Manager, the IT Hardware Asset Management Analyst will join the Business Operations team and manages the day-to-day technology-related hardware within MSU Denver. This includes monitoring, and recording hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. It requires reporting on compliance with ITAM processes and maintain best practice standards, systems and measurements associated with ITAM processes.

A successful candidate will be analytically driven, has excellent written and oral communication skills.

Hardware Purchasing & Receiving

Using our IT Service Management tool, you will monitor and support daily operations related to hardware purchases. This includes the use of the ticketing module to communicate with clients their purchase statuses, and using the assets/CIs module to monitor contracts for ITAM renewals. You will collaborate with and maintain ITS and vendor relationships to gather quotes and agreements for hardware renewals. You will follow procurement procedures to initiate purchases through usage of a Corp Card or requisitions using the designated ERP tool.

Hardware Asset Lifecycle Management

You will manage hardware assets and configuration items through their lifecycle from acquisition to disposition using ITAM industry best practices. This includes computing, audio and visual, network and server (physical and virtual) equipment. You will coordinate the acquisition and proper disposal of leased hardware at the start and end of the lease cycle. You will ensure hardware assets are imported and updated in our ITSM tool along with corresponding attributes. You will ensure proper disposal of e-waste as purchased hardware assets are retired.

Hardware Asset Audit and Compliance

You will document practical procedures to fit the needs of ITS teams in managing ITS hardware lifecycle. You will perform assessment and optimization of asset management processes to ensure that they are meeting the ongoing and evolving requirements of ITS and the institution. You will develop reporting models in our ITSM tool to guide future expenditure conversations and perform audits to ensure asset records are maintained.

Special projects

At the Hardware Asset Manager's discretion, you'll be asked to take on projects that support our teams, develop our culture, and give you an opportunity to grow in your role.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant experience with hardware asset management.

  • Experience with an ITSM platform concentrating on ticket & incident management, Asset Management and Configuration Management database

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Certifications issued by the International Association of IT Asset Managers (IAITAM) such as Certified IT Asset Management (CITAM), Certified Hardware Asset Management professional (CHAMP) and/or Certified in IT Asset Disposition (CITAD)

  • ITIL V4 Foundation certification

  • Experience with Asset Management and Configuration Management within TeamDynamix

  • Professional experience in a higher education environment

  • Experience with procurement/purchasing and acquisition of goods

Salary for Announcement

The salary range for this position is $ 62,000 - $74,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, training, and qualifications.

Work Hours/Type

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, this position is hybrid with a minimum of 2 days on campus per week.
