WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

As a Clinical Research Specialist, you will use your clinical background to help advance new treatments in cellular therapies for cancer, and autoimmune diseases for clinical trials. This position also supports the donor and recipient hemovigilance. In this role, you will review clinical laboratory and study-specific documents, answer questions from research participants, and maintain and analyze hemovigilance reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized care to research study patients by protecting the welfare of each participant.
  • Participate in the recruitment of study participants and review documentation of medical history for all donor testing.
  • Provide accurate and timely data collection, documentation, entry, and reporting in both sponsor and ARC databases.
  • Collaborate with other study and research teams to identify and prioritize the development of systems, and infrastructure.
  • Develop accurate source materials and ensure compliance from site staff.
  • Maintain a national database and supplementary records sufficient to ensure that tracking and trending are accomplished, that unfavorable trends are identified for investigation and correction, and that outlier regions are identified for further investigation.
  • Generate reports for medical directors, regions, senior management, and FDA as required for risk management functions and operational tasks.
  • Identify, design, perform, analyze, and report studies and exercises needed to understand, investigate, correct, or improve activities that affect donor or recipient safety.

Pay Information: The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000

Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have, and comparison to other employees already in this role.

WORK LOCATION & SCHEDULE: The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home anywhere in the USA.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working for a hospital, clinic, or blood center or the equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Computer and database proficiency (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous in all aspects of work.
  • Strong follow-through skills and ability to proactively identify and solve problems; demonstrated initiative is imperative.
  • Must have a professional demeanor, and strong communication skills with the public as well as physicians and co-workers.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE:

  • Experience working as an Apheresis Nurse or Apheresis Technician
  • Clinical background/Experience working in a clinical protocol
  • Previous experience with REDCap, Power BI, Excel, Minitab, and OneNote, is a plus
