Your Role With Us:

Salem Health is seeking a dedicated General Surgeon to join our esteemed team at the Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics. In this role, you will provide exceptional surgical care, perform consultations and contribute to both clinical and administrative functions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultations and perform procedures for general surgery referrals.

  • Deliver follow-up outpatient care after inpatient admissions to the TRACS service.

  • Document and submit billing activity daily.

  • Provide outpatient general surgery coverage

  • Operate and perform procedures on patients admitted to the TRACS service.

  • Document clinical care promptly, including H&Ps, operation notes, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

  • Participate in the general surgery ED call schedule.

  • Review charts as requested by the Medical Director.

  • Assist in developing policies, protocols, order sets, and handouts relevant to the TRACS service and Surgery Clinic.

  • Develop a referral base for general surgery patients.

  • Provide administrative support as requested by the Medical Director.

  • Assist the Trauma & TRACS Medical Director in educational activities.

Background/Expertise:

  • Board Certification or eligible by the American Board of Surgery.

  • Minimum of 2 years in general surgery.

  • Current Medical License in good standing issued by the Oregon Medical Board.

  • Hold DEA certification.

  • Knowledge of Lean methodology is highly preferred.
